Intro to Essentrics

As many of you know, my 6-week Jumpstart Your Health, Bone Builders and WalkFit have been the backbones of the start of my fitness career since leaving my full-time corporate job in food service three years ago. Every few years, my certifications come up for renewal and there are classes and credits required for renewing.

I thought about doing water aerobics or yoga, but they didn’t quite strike the cord that I was looking for. I wanted to engage people in helping themselves heal from aches, pains, injuries and other ailments and knew that it was about keeping the body moving and energized through good food, non-toxic personal care and fitness. When I was introduced to Essentrics, I found it works on a whole different level. And once I heard Miranda Esmonde-White, the creator of Classical Stretch, Essentrics and the author of Aging Backwards and Forever Painless speak about how the body and mind ages and continuously work together, I thought she was so amazing! I talk about mindset all the time, but she brings it to another level, I think. She knows what she is talking about scientifically and works with so many different people to make it happen and brings it to the common person so they can understand it so easily! I was hooked and decided that Essentrics was THE THING I was looking for and my journey began. Of course you always think you will be through the course in a few months, but in reality, it took almost six!

So Essentrics is the certification I have been working on this past summer and I have completed my required apprentice hours and am awaiting certificate-in-hand! It has been so exciting. I owe many thanks to Melissa, Director of the Glocester Senior Center and Gretchen, Director of the Pascoag Public Library for giving me space to practice every week AND to the many dedicated and forgiving members and friends who tirelessly gave their time and energy to practice with me so that I could learn the routines, make mistakes and laugh and grow as a group instructor. I am so very grateful for all of you!

And now, I have incorporated several options into my regular schedule to bring you this amazing exercise routine and I am so excited for you to join me. Don’t hesitate to email me with questions or comments.
